For the week of 18 - 24 November we're creating space to encourage empathy and mindfulness. We're doing this through daily challenges that come out of the scripture Matthew 25 verses 35 - 40.

"For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’

“Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’"

On the graphic above, each day represents a section of the Matthew 25 scripture, which links to a challenge.

Screenshot or save this image to your phone and then as you start each day remind yourself of what that day's challenge is so that you can engage in empathy and mindfulness towards others.

We've also created a YouVersion Reading Plan, called The Matthew 25 Challenge. Find the plan HERE.

Each day you can watch a video on our Facebook page by our pastors, explaining the daily challenge and sharing a word to encourage us in that day ahead. Make sure you're following us on Facebook by clicking HERE.

Then on the last day of the challenge we meet together (at your Grace campus) to celebrate what God has done in our hearts, awakening us to His love for all people.

where do buckets of hope fit in?

Buckets of Hope is an initiative we run each year at Grace where we encourage you to buy a bucket, or more, and fill it with the items listed on the shopping list inside. On the 24th of November we meet for church to end off the Matthew 25 Challenge in celebration and thanksgiving, bringing our filled Buckets of Hope. These buckets are distributed to missions partners around KZN and beyond bringing hope to many families and communities in need during the Christmas season.

Buckets are R50 each (which includes a bag of maize produced through our Farming God's Way program) and you can buy/fill as many buckets as you'd like. The more we fill the more lives are impacted.

Buckets are on sale at each Grace campus from 3 November - 17 November.
