If you are new or not yet connected then ENGAGE is definitely for you. This is an opportunity for you to meet the staff team at your campus and hear about the vision and mission of Grace Family Church, and what it means for us to love God, love people and make a difference.
This event is also a great place to meet others who are new to Grace or wanting to get connected. There will be an opportunity for you to explore the gifts God has designed you with and then to see how you can use those gifts to serve in the church and beyond the walls of the church.
We’d love you to join us at the next ENGAGE event so to do that you can chat to your Sunday host, or CLICK HERE to sign up to your nearest campus. - The Engage process guides you to discover your redemptive purpose and live the life God created for you. The process is made up of four steps that equip you to:
connect to the church,
discover your design,
develop your influence, and
use your God-given gifts to join God’s mission to heal the world.
((I think if anything, we can bring membership language right up front in the booklet. It’s about a journey etc.))
Becoming a Member (not sure if this is relevant, so feel free to delete)
When it comes to membership - nowhere in the bible does it explicitly say “join a local church”. But that doesn’t mean it is not a biblical reality and truth. Paul speaks about the fact that we are all “members of One Body”. This means we all have a role to play in the “Body of Christ” - the Church.
At Grace we talk about “membership” a little differently:
Authentic Community is the Goal, not Membership.
We don’t really care whether you’re an “official member” or not so much as we care about whether you are engaged in the life of the church and actively participating in God’s mission to heal the world.
Membership is a Responsibility, not a Right.
Our modern-day cultural view of membership is somewhat backwards. Members get “special parking” and “special privileges”. But not so with us. Here at Grace members are called to serve the “non-members” sacrificially.
Membership is an Invitation to a Journey.
None of us have arrived, and just because we are “members” doesn’t mean we have it all together. We are all on this journey towards full devotion to Christ, and we are all at different stages along that journey. Membership is simply a commitment to keep moving forward.
